Although the playing field is
presently tilted in favor of the travel industry, consumers do have some
travel rights. Here are websites that will explain those rights.
Also, you can help secure some new travel consumer rights by supporting and
becoming actively involved in getting new laws passed to even the playing

Consumer Travel Rights Center. Al Anolik, the "dean of travel law" has an
excellent website with information on traveler's legal rights for airlines,
cruises, trains, car rentals, hotels and tours. The major airlines
have filed "conditions of carriage" with the U.S. Department of
Transportation (DOT) guaranteeing their respective Rule 240s.

The American Society of Travel Agents has put together their
"Air Traveler's Bill of Rights" guidelines.
