Adamstown |
| Capital
of:
Pitcairn Islands |
Location map:
South Pacific |
Languages:
English
Notes: There
are four islands in the group which are officially known as the Pitcairn Islands. The main
island is called Pitcairn Island and the only one that is inhabited.
It is a British dependency. There are 40 people left on the island the last
time we checked. It
is too isolated for young people who have moved to Australia and New Zealand
to live. Adamstown was named after John Adams, the last man to survive
years of feuding between the original English and Tahitian descendants.
