Note: McDonald Island is an Australian territory. It is close to Antarctica. This uninhabited, barren island was transferred from the UK to Australia in 1947. Populated by large numbers of seal and bird species, the island has been designated a nature preserve. It is close to Heard island. Tours can be arranged to the island. |
