Cities, towns, and more
We have city pages for all
the capitals of the world, as well as, major towns or
villages for other places such as islands and territories. We believe you will find using our
World Cities section a pleasant
and worthwhile experience. We have no pop-ads and our other
ads, with few exceptions, are to the sides of the
information we present.
We like it that way and think
you will too.

City Notes:
We have a page for
each capital city of a country and sometimes for some other
cities, towns or villages that are popular tourist or
adventure travel destinations. The fact that we list a
city in a disputed territory does not mean we are making a political
statement. We just want to help people learn about the city in case
they want to visit it.
External links always open in
a new window. |
City Names. The common name for a
city is used instead of the official name because that is
the one you will most likely know. If a city has changed its name in the last 20-30
years, you can usually search by the former name using our
A-Z City Finder in the
left column or above.
Also, some cities
consist of a combined name or are commonly known by two different names. You can
usually search by
either name.
|
Affiliations.
We are an affiliate of Expedia,
Amazon.com and some other travel and language websites.
A complete list is on our Village Shop page. However,
we believe in helping you find the travel and language
information you need regardless of any affiliations. We
research and find both popular and other useful web sites
with good information to help you plan your trip. We also
believe in getting you directly to information on other
websites and are usually able to drop you off at their page
with the information.

|
The 3-Click
Rule. We are a firm believer in the 3-click rule
and it is unfortunate that it wasn't included in our
American Bill of
Rights! It should
take you no more than 3 clicks to get anywhere on our
website. Please let us know if we break that rule.
If there are problems with a page or you have ideas for additional links, please
send an email to the Webmaster using our
Feedback Page. Thanks! |

Guide To Our City Pages |
|
|
- Links To Travel Guides and
Travel Agencies. Our city pages will usually link you directly to the
page on some popular travel guide sites for the city. We have
our standard set of travel sites and we usually try to find some
travel sites in English that originate from the country itself. We
also link to some popular travel agencies. External links always
- Links To Place Page.
Each city page has a link to our place page where the city is
located.
- Links To Language Pages.
Each city page has a link to our language page for each major
language spoken there. Our language pages have links to
websites that offer free online-lessons, translation dictionaries
and automatic translation websites. We also link to some sites that
offer commercial language products such as phrasebooks, dictionaries
and language learning software.
- City Toolbars. As
shown below, a city page may have one of two types of City
Toolbars, or both of them, or may not have a toolbar at all. We
plan to eventually have both toolbars on all our city pages. These
toolbars make it easy to find essential tourist information for the
city and also to go there virtually sometimes via a webcam or a 360
degree virtual photographic tour.

have links to more travel information. |
