For U.S. Travelers

U.S. State Department - Medical Information for Americans Going Abroad.   The State Department has put together a good list and links to travel insurance companies, and air ambulances, med-evac and executive medical Services. Note: Medicare does not cover medical expenses outside the United States except in American territories such as The U.S. Virgin Islands and American Samoa.
 
Some Government Travel Health Sites
CDC Travel Information.  United States Government.  This is the U.S. Center for Disease Control's travel section where you can find out everything you want to know about health requirements for international travel. The government did a first class job on this site. See also the box at the bottom.
 
Fit For Travel  Scottish Government.  The Scotland NHS provides this excellent website that has travel health information for people traveling abroad from the UK.  
 
Health Canada's Travel Health  Canadian Government.  Travel Health information for travelers and Travel Medicine Professionals.  The Canadian equivalent of the service provided American travelers by the United States CDC.
 
U.K. National Travel Health Network and Centre   United Kingdom Government. The NaTHNaC was created to promote clinical standards in travel medicine with the goal of 'protecting the health of British travellers'.
 
Australian Travel health. Australia Government. This is the Australian government website providing travel health information for Australian travelers.
 
 
Some Good Travel Health Sites

The Guardian - Health and Fitness  U.K. newspaper.   Good articles on staying healthy while traveling and going overseas for medical procedures.
 

Healthy Flying  Diana Fairechild's, author of several popular books on healthy flying has a wealth of air travel health information on her website.
 
IAMAT.  This is the International Association for Medical Assistance To Travelers (IAMAT) site. It has an English and French version. This non-profit membership organization was founded in 1960. It has been a world leader in advising travelers of health risks, locations of diseases, immunization requirements, sanitary conditions and environmental and climatic conditions around the world.  Membership is free for individuals although a donation is appreciated. They also have company memberships. membership includes some excellent publications.

IAMAT also maintains a network of physicians - general practitioners and specialists, hospitals and clinics worldwide who have agreed to treat travelers in need of medical care. 
 

Lonely Planet - Health Information To Get You Started  Successful travel is healthy travel.  And Lonely Planet does a good job of covering health information you can use on the road or on the trail.
 
MedicinePlanet.com  Medicine Planet is a mobile online health provider that gives subscribers instant access to healthcare information and services wherever they are in most of the world.  There Mobile Medical network let's you use your mobile phone to contact them 7/24 with a medical emergency.  (They also run the TravelHealth.com site listed below.)
 
The Wellness Concierge   They provide travelers with travel health information, resources, and inspiration to ease the stress and strain of travel and encourage healthier lifestyles.
 
Travel Clinic Locations  The International Society of Travel Medicine website includes a list of Travel Clinics worldwide where you can get shots and travel health information before your journey. The U.S. CDC organization also has a page on Travel Clinics.
  
Travel Health On-Line  This is one of the best sites on the web for travel health and travel security information worldwide. The site is updated daily and has an easy to use search for the country or place you are interested in. It also includes the latest US Department of State Travel Advisories and Warnings. It is maintained by Shoreline, Inc. who publish TRAVAX® software and the Travel Health Information Service subscriptions and education tools for health professionals who counsel international travelers.

TravelHealth.com  Another great comprehensive resource for travel health information.  They also have a Travel Insurance Policy Picker to help you chose the best travel insurance policy. Please note that they do not include all travel insurance companies.
 
Highway To Health (HTH).  They offer trip cancellation and medical insurance while on travel to other countries.  They also have Travel Health Centers on their website with excellent information on travel health issues.
